The Greek Assassin
June 16, 2009
The editorial Adesiara has released the murder, a title that has the appearance of thriller but is actually a drama set in rural nineteenth century the Greek islands. The author is one of the fathers of modern Hellenic literature, Alexandros Papadiamandis (1851-1911), and history you'll find there is an old (old for fashion of the time, having little over sixty years) is devoted to kill little girls to save them the suffering caused by being born female in a society miserable, cruel and discriminatory as those encontorns. A translation of treballadíssima Rudolph Garrigasait (with a study by way of epilogue included) which recreates the rich hues of lush vocabulary that, presumably, contains the original Papadiamandis. A novel moral without being moralistic, with a speech in which the seriousness of the events described from an emotional distance which, however, does not carry quite the contrary, a lack of sensitivity to the misfortunes that exposes or flees a profound psychological portrait of human desperation. With Salvetat that the current Catalan translation is made, the murder will find a parallel course, in my opinion, with the infanticida or loneliness, Victor Catalan, both the storyline and treatment of characters, portrayed with a delicacy that makes for good genes estovada phrase Kundera says that there is more insensitive than a sentimental person. The killer is a work of sensitivity, but the antithesis of sentimentality.
